コネクションという最も重要なもの
合格の決め手となるのはここだと思う。
コネクションを作る方法は何個かあるので紹介しておこうと思う。

学会
学会は特にいいと思う。残念ながら僕が参加した学会は全てオンラインだったのでコネクションを作ることができなかった。涙。
紹介
僕はこのやり方で教授と知り合った。
まずは指導教員がアメリカの研究者の知り合いがいないかを探る。なんなら研究室配属希望の段階からこれを見据えて配属を希望する。
僕はこのやり方で有名大学の教授と知り合うことは出来なさそうだったので、指導教員の知り合いの教員に頼んでもらってMITの教授を紹介してもらった。
直接コンタクト
直接コンタクトを取ろうとしてみる。
基本的に返信は返ってこないと思った方が良い。 僕はこのやり方で頑張ってみたが一通も返信が返ってこなかった。難しい。
いろいろやり方を変えて、スライドを入れてみたり、docxを入れてみたりしたが厳しそうだった。
メールが相手に読まれたかどうかを判別するツールがあるので、それをつけて送ると良い。
以下僕が使っていたメールの一例。
Nice to meet you. My name is XX. I am researching under Prof. YY as a first-year Master’s student at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Tokyo. I got your contact information from your website. I am writing this to inquire about the possibility of having an online meeting with you.
I plan to apply to Ph.D. programs in the U.S. this year, and I am really interested in your laboratory. I appreciate it if you could take your time to have an online meeting with me (using zoom/skype/google hangout, etc.) because I would like to know more about you and your laboratory.
I have been reading your researches and articles. Particularly, XX excited me the most among your research papers. In your articles, I was really impressed by your research vision to democratize domain-specific accelerators. I found that my research interest and background suit your research vision and topics through reading your papers.
I think you are receiving a lot of emails from many students all over the world. To distinguish me from them and show my enthusiasm for your laboratory, I have attached the following two documents in addition to my CV.

- My research interest and research proposals that might suit your laboratory I will explain them in detail at the online meeting with additional slides if you want.
